MicroPact is seeking an energetic and motivated individual as Sales Engineer at our Herndon, VA location. Position Summary
The Sales Engineer designs and develops high-quality prototypes that link company software capabilities with customer needs and requirements. This will entail eliciting requirements using interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop prototypes from the ground up using Java, JavaScript, AJAX, and SQL.
- Rapidly evaluate requirements and translate them into configuration ideas for Web-based prototypes meeting customer system requirements.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with sales team, application engineers, and external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and incorporate these needs/requirements into the system prototype.
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously, without compromising speed or quality.
- Work independently with end users to define concepts, and under the direction of sales team staff and project managers.
- Attend and participate in Sales/Client meetings to assess systems and to design superior solutions.
- Able to proficiently illustrate information architecture and user interface mechanisms to facilitate client understanding and to manage customers’ expectations.
Desired Skills
- Functional and technical knowledge of Federal contracting world.
- Experience programming in SQL, Java, AJAX and Java Script.
- Web Application and Relational Database (SQL Server, Oracle) experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Strong Analytical Skills (ability to digest requirements and produce a superior prototype design).
- Superior Technical and programming Skills to be able to develop advanced prototype systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate technical specifications and instructions clearly and effectively.
- Ability to tackle multiple projects/duties at the same time while assuming responsibility for the well-being of all simultaneously assigned projects.
